I am interested in a student becoming a good listener and being able to play a variety of musical styles. As a musician, I believe that while learning and making music it is important not only to learn the fundamental techniques required for the instrument, but to have fun while playing. Playing and making music should be an enjoyable past time for all people of all ages, without judgement because of skill level or genre. For all of my students, I use the Bel canto (beautiful singing) method.Bel Canto is a traditional method rooted in classical singing. I have found this method to work for all students of all levels of skill because it teaches a seamless blend of the vocal registers no matter the genre. It is a method that works most with the Mezzo de Voce (middle of the voice) which in return strengthens the passaggio ( the transition area between the vocal registers). Read More

I grew up in the Washington DC area playing Clarinet, Alto Sax, Tenor Sax, and Baritone Sax. I attended Walt Whitman High School and was a member of its award winning Jazz Ensemble as a Tenor Saxophonist.
