However, I will typically move students through the method book quickly and get right into performance repertoire that is appropriate for their age and level. Practicing every day for at least 30 minutes is a must not only from the book but by just playing long tones, playing major scales which I will also go over and possibly some songs to keep the student interested in his instrument.
