My teaching method books involve All for Strings and Suzuki books. Suzuki books are categorized from level 1-10, level 8-10 is the equivalent of college level repertoire. I currently have students on level 1-8. In addition, I also look for individual method books and outside repertoire of Suzuki once the student is ready to move at a faster pace or in need of additional help. Since then I have been participating in many music education programs in Elementary, Midlle, and High Schools as wel as Continuation Schools both for LAUSD and as a staff member of CALARTS University. Since aquiring my own music studio in Porter Ranch, California in 2005 I was able to consistently offer private drum classes at my location where I feel I can provide the right equipment and right atmosphere to my students to be able to enjoy and benefit as much as possible from our teaching session. I am an active member of Music Teachers Association of California (MTAC). My students take the Certificate of Merit (CM) test annually in performance, theory, sight-reading and ear training. Taking the CM test is optional but highly recommended. I also make sure my students have plenty of chances at performing on stage at recitals by organizing my own recitals or joining forces with other MTAC teachers. Having a recital to practice for is a great motivation for students to practice daily and gives the parents the chance to see their children's accomplishments. Read More
