As a kinesthetic learner, I have always had a tendency of using colors, rhymes, similarities, acronyms among other things to ease my learning ability of which I have found myself using a similar method when explaining a concept to one of my students. Setting short and long term goals allow for me and the student to be enthusiastic to learn and eager to step into our next lesson. My methods vary with the age of the student. For beginners who are children, I usually start with Alfred's Basic Piano Library, which I try to go through most of that series. During that time, the children will occasionally play anything they wish to play that is interesting or fun to them. When they are finished, we will go into many different solo pieces for them to play to further advance their knowledge and performance of music. Read More

For my novice students I will use the John W. Schaum piano course. We will begin with scales and arpeggios. Once these students have grasped the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce repertoire appropriate for their first solo recital. My goal is to instill in them an appreciation for the classical music of the 18th and 19th century such as that of the Three Bs (Bach, Beethoven, and Brahms). Read More

I have been playing the saxophone for 10 years and I am versed in different styles. I first began studying classically and in my later years I turned to Jazz, RB, Gospel, Blues, and Funk. I Started with music 17 years now . I began age 10 with cello. 2 years later started the guitar. Picked up along the way electric bass, upright bass, ukulele , mandolin , banjo, basic piano and learning accordion. All middle and high school was in the orchestra. Graduated 2009, then attended Lone-star for 2 years taking music classes. I was in a band for about 3 years. We did some events, but then I decide to leave.
