My teaching experience goes back as far as high school when I started volunteering to teach violin lessons to younger students. In my college years, I taught as part of Oberlin Conservatory's secondary lessons program in addition to teaching members of the Oberlin community of different ages and levels. Currently, I maintain private studios in multiple locations as an addition to my Musika students. My teaching experience as a violin instructor and educator has given me the chance to grow through my students' achievements and has transformed my life in a positive way. Read More

My teaching experience started when i was 16 years old and i was known as a rock guitar player around the school when all the sudden i had friends of mine approach me asking for lessons, i started teaching beginner lessons since it was an area i could master easily and i also wanted to get in touch with what being a teacher was in the first place. As i grew older and gained more experience on the matter i started teaching for complex and in depth classes that even went beyond guitar like techniques in popular composition and how to orchestrate for different styles of music (Swing, Latin, Baroque, etc) and now im currently in my last year of college studying composition and production in Berklee in order to work as a performer, composer and academic. As a highschooler I was very motivated to help the young musicians of the Middle School. I would dedicate a period of my day to running sectionals and teaching students in the Middle and High School. Though I was never paid for this work, as I was just fine doing it for free, I learned much about effective and ineffective ways of communication in teaching. During college I would help the youth prep school jazz band by being a behavior role model, playing in the section, and running sectionals. Read More
Instruments: Saxophone Clarinet Keyboard
I have been my musical journey on clarinet in the second grade, and I have stuck with it ever since! I then picked up tenor saxophone to play in the jazz big band, and I began my piano journey at the end of high school to diversify my musical knowledge! I have gained a lot of experience playing in the professional music world through playing at Westfield State! From playing in WSU's symphony, to creating my own chamber ensemble, to playing in the jazz big band, to playing in a pit orchestra and even dabbling in chorus and chamber choir, I like to be as musically versatile and explorative as I can! I strongly believe that everyone is very different. Learning styles and musical goals are very much a part of this. Some find reading from a book helps them, so for most students I begin by recommending "A Modern Method For Guitar" from the Berklee Press, however for others a book is not as helpful as listening to some music and watching someone play. I like to introduce as much theory as is desired from the student because theory is a very important part of the musical process, but if the student prefers to get playing first and understand the “why” later then we can work something out in that regard. Depending on musical interest, we can work with different genre's and pieces to promote specific techniques and practice routines. Read More

My goal is to help my student evolve into a creative, critically thinking, and fundamentally strong musician.I want my student to find his/her own creative voice through music. Even if the student does not pursue a career in music, through this process he/she will have developed invaluable skills and confidence. Seeing students acquire that self-confidence and creative voice is what makes teaching worthwhile. Read More
