Instruments: Piano Voice
I believe that each student having come from their own background requires a method tailored to their own needs. Younger students may require basics, but if theyve played an instrument and have a strong understanding of the fundamentals and building blocks of music, they can be miles ahead of the curve. That being said, I like to start new students off by allowing them to sing a song that they love to sing. Read More
Instruments: Double Bass
For young beginners, I assess the best approach - be it a particular method book or writing out my own studies geared toward the individual. From the first lesson, proper bow technique is emphasized, helping the student get a pleasing sound in the first lesson. For older students (teens and up), I teach to their goals and interests, welcoming and encouraging their input. Communication is vital. I also give listening assignments to help introduce students to varied repertoire - orchestral, chamber, and even vocal. Read More

I'm a clarinet instructor who is excited to share his passion with his students. In 2014, I graduated from University of Southern Maine, where I studied clarinet with Tom Parchman, with a degree in Music Education. In 2017, I graduated from University fo Delaware with a dual Master of Music degree in Clarinet Performance and Composition, where I studied clarinet with Chris Nichols. At University of Delaware, I got to perform in Taiwan, as well as the Washington, D.C. area on tours with the Wind Ensemble and Symphony Orchestra. Read More
Instruments: Piano Flute Piccolo Music
In each flute lesson, I typically begin with a bow as respect for myself and the student. We typically start with tonalization warmup from Suzuki Book 1. The student listens and produces the best sound they can make after listening to me. My goal as a teacher is to help them become their own teacher and evaluate the things they can improve upon. Additionally, each piece in the Suzuki Books, the piece has something to review and teaches a new concept which I really like as well. Read More
Instruments: Piano Violin Electric Violin
When it comes to teaching beginner piano, my philosophy is to avoid making lessons and assignments feel like a monotonous chore. If a student feels overwhelmed and/or uninterested in completing assignments and attending lessons, it can have the same affect as being assigned too much school work and house chores; the student will most likely lose interest in learning. As a young musician, I make sure that my students look forward to their lessons by reinforcing the idea of music as a form of artistic expression. Read More
Instruments: Voice Music
First, I will check the students capabilities and voice, no matter what your age is, to know what you can do or what you cant do YET! For beginning students who are children, I typically start with breathing and voice building. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level. Read More
