I acheive this through various agility exercises and working on repertoire with at least an octave of range. I also work on bridging the vocal registers through mindful vowel manipulation and plenty, PLENTY of support. For the advanced singer, the instruction can be guided on helping through a piece of repertoire, particular vocalizations or ornaments and the like.
