I don't have a set process for every student. Every student is different and learns at their own pace. Depending on your preference of theory or practice and the type of music you aspire to play, I will tailor the teaching approach. By trying to find out the student's goals, I can successfully tailor my instruction to their wants. It is important to make your learning experience as enjoyable as possible so that you are encouraged to paly regularly. Read More

For beginners with no prior knowledge or musical education I start with the MelBay Method Modern Guitar 1. After they acquired the basic & fundamental Knowledge and skills in an entertaining way then I move on to teach them the first lesson of the Melbay method the student learns the first note on the first three strings of the guitar. Later based on their progress I move on to teach them the first scales and natural and simple accords with songs that stimulate and encourage their learning process according to their level of musical knowledge. My teaching experience began in the school year of 2011-2012 when I had the pleasure of an apprenticeship with a locally renowned Music Director at E.W.F. Stirrup Elementary. This was where my passion for teaching music flourished. Under Director Sherker's wing, we taught and directed the elementary school string orchestra and chorus programs. From then on I knew that my talent and studies were meant to be spread through my own teachings. Read More

Although I have experience teaching both private, one-on-one lessons and group lessons in a classroom setting, I find that one-on-one lessons is the best way to learn. This allows students to go at their own pace and not have to feel rushed. Not to mention, it's way more enjoyable to learn when you have a patient teacher giving you support and motivation. I don't like to rush students because after all, most students just want to learn for fun. Read More

My approach is focused very much on performance, technicalities, and theory. I believe it is very important for the student to understand how these aspects of playing coincide with each other, and how they are equally essential to music playing. Before giving a student a piece of music to play, I will always play it befoehand and dissect the song into portions that I feel need special attention. I encourage playing with other musicians, and always try to teach the art ofimprovisation, so that the students can learn to play not only by themselves, but with other musicians, using the musicial understanding that it takes to improvise.
