I have been playing the piano for twelve years. I graduated from Stetson University in 2019 with a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance and from the University of Texas in El Paso (UTEP) with a Masters of Music in Piano Performance in 2022. I have performed in Italy, Florida, Georgia, Oklahoma, and Texas, on a solo level and collaboration. I like to start by exploring where the student is at in their musical education and what they are looking to study in private lessons. From there, we build the lesson around them! Once we’ve established where to begin, I’ll ask the student to choose a piece they’d like to perform and I’ll assign them a piece of my own choice as well. I believe it is important that beginning students who do not know how to read music yet stay out of the books at first. Reading music and trying to hold the instrument correctly, having bow control, and paying attention to tone can be overwhelming. The first few lessons will be book free. The student might not know what there is to practice or learn, so I'll give them materials and the tools to be able to get better with practice. I started playing piano at age 5 and finished a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education and Piano Pedagogy from Saint Louis University. My 16 years of classical training helped me attain a teaching position at the Yamaha School of Music in the Philippines and a rewarding teaching career at the Florida Conservatory of Music in Jacksonville, Florida.
