Each of my students learns to read music, practices sight singing, and learns solfege. In my opinion, these are the neccessary fundamentals to being a great singer AND musician! Each student also does warm ups including breathing exercises, vocal technique exercises, and vocalises. I have used a variety of teaching books and methods, and will generally try to contour my methods to the needs of students while also keeping costs low. We study the theory for the vocalist, modern styles. We will practice a sense of rhythm, improvisation, work with a microphone.
