I began teaching students during my undergraduate degree. I've taught over 50 students, grades ranging from 6-12, throughout my undergrad degree. My goal in the music profession is to become a trumpet professor at the collegiate level and have my own trumpet studio. In my lessons, I focus on all aspects of your trumpet skills: technique, musicality, sight reading, and tone to name a few. Often the goals for students depends on demands from school, so it is important to establish these based on school requirements as well as personal accomplishments the student may have. I graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in Vocal Music Education in 2010, and am almost finished with my doctorate in choral conducting. I have been singing in choirs since I was in fifth grade and studying voice privately since 2000. I've had the opportunity to travel the world singing in choirs. My method/my style is as mentioned above: My focus is always on the individual student, their music interests and goals AND having a BLAST! My "style" is centered around enjoyment and realistic accomplishments, so the atmosphere is REWARDING! I do begin with foundational skills, music theory that is applicable to the knowledge level of my students, and technique building.
