Instruments: Voice Fiddle Music

I've been teaching and leading sectionals for four years now, and have taught lessons on both fiddle and voice! It's an honor to be able to spread the love of music to students, as music has changed my life. Consistent practice is important, but so is finding what the student loves to practice. Music should be fun, even as it's hard work! Students are encouraged to write, explore their own creativity, and explore other avenues of music beyond performance, like learning music theory and notation, as well as the basics of music software, if they're interested. I try to maintain organization and give my students goals to accomplish. In this, I aim to teach them how to create these goals for themselves, giving them a say in what they choose to work on. I will push a student in whichever direction they are aiming for. I maintain an attitude of positivity and try to encourage my students as much as possible. However, I still prefer to openly communicate and make the student aware if they are falling behind. Read More

Instruments: Piano

One of my favorite things to do is share my passion for music with others. I've found music to be the greatest inspiration in my life, and I love being able to introduce it to my students. I've been taking piano lessons ever since I can remember, becoming more and more serious as the years passed. In 2009, I joined a choir and a band through American Music Abroad, which took me on a 3 week tour of Europe. Read More

Instruments: Piano Violin

I began teaching lessons as early as high school. It started out as a way to mentor younger students in my school district and get them ready for auditions for orchestras in high school. I then began to take other students and continued to do so throughout my undergrad. I have had students ranging from age 3 to age 15 before, but youre never too old to start learning music! A students experience with a teacher can make or break their interest in music. Read More

I can take on any student of any experience level, from beginner to advanced, young and wise. I love working with kids, and I am great with helping anyone overcome stage fright and develop confidence. One of the qualities I admire of those who have taught me is their approachability and acceptance. I am supportive and encouraging, and I love being able to watch my students grow into powerful artists! I am open to anything and everything that you want to work on. Instruments: Piano Voice

I am a positive, energetic instructor and performer who loves working with students of all ages and backgrounds. I completed my bachelor's in music performance at the University of Wyoming in 2014, and have just completed my first semester as a Master's student in Jazz Studies at the University of Northern Colorado. In my time as a performer I have enjoyed performing many roles such as Yum-Yum in Gilbert and Sullivan's Mikado, Fiona in Brigadoon, and Marty in Grease. Read More

With most beggining students I use Hal Leonard's Essential Elements 2000. For intermediate students I find the Rubank methods move at a faster pace and put a larger emphases on scales. For beginning students, when students are ready I will introduce an easy solo book. In most cases I use Belwin Master Solos or an Essential Elements supplement depending on the interests of the student. For students interested in learning jazz or other forms of improvisation, I would use Hal Leonard's "How to Play from a Real Book" in combination with the Hal Leonard or Aebersold play-along series. Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
