Instruments: Trombone
My teaching experience extends back to my high school years when I began working with fellow trombonists to help them improve their playing. More recently, I have picked up teaching again and currently work with local students in the Piedmont Triad area. As I have stated previously, my teaching method focuses heavily on fundamentals and technique, as it is my belief that having a strong foundation will provide the student with the tools necessary to have success on the instrument. My teaching experience dates back to my college days, as I began teaching private lessons part time 40 years ago, and have been consistently teaching students in my home studio for the last 20 years. Encouraging regular practice on a consistent schedule is one of the key points I like to emphasize for younger students, as it tends to help the student progress and gain a passion for the instrument. I've also found that a combination of classical and modern music can go a long way in helping students enjoy their instrument and motivate them to practice and continue to learn. Read More
Instruments: Piano Keyboard
I enjoy sharing the joy of making music with my students. I studied piano performance at Jacob School of Music and piano pedagogy at Longy School of Music (Cambridge, MA). Born into a musical family, I grew up playing music and ensembles as a family. I also played cello in school orchestra and joined choir as an adult. I have served as an accompanist for singers and instrumentalists in music school, church and private concerts. Read More

I'm a passionate instructor who cares deeply about a students education. In 2015, I graduated from West Johnston High School as drum captain in my band program. Since then I've performed in Alchemy Independent, an open class indoor percussion group. I've been with the group since 2017, and I have completed 2 seasons with them. Performing for an audience has been the best experiences of my life, and having the opportunity to play with all of these different organizations have been incredible and inspiring. Read More
Instruments: Violin
Therefore, with the firm foundation with which I equip each of my students, they have the tools they need to one day pass on to others their skills and knowledge. Therefore, I take the opportunity of teaching you or your child very seriously because, not only are you important, but the next generation of violinists is too. I also want my students to learn the valuable development skills and character qualities that can be acquired while learning the violin. Read More
Instruments: Piano
I began teaching in college and was a graduate assistant at the University of Oklahoma. I taught private lessons in my professor's home studio, group lessons for undergraduate courses, and private lessons in our pedagogy teaching lab at OU. I've also taught private piano lessons at North Central College, Naperville, IL, Harper Community College in IL and Meredith College in Raleigh, NC. Throughout the years I've held positions in the Cary-Apex Piano Teachers Association and the Raleigh Piano Teachers Association. Read More
