I tailor each of my lessons to the needs and desires of each individual. I am fond of using method books such as Hal Leonard's Essential Elements or Bruce Peterson's Standard of Excellence (or, with school children in a band program, whatever their method book may be), but I also like to bring separate handouts or sheets of exercises, drills, and songs that I have created over the years. I want each lesson to be engaging and fulfilling, and for the student to feel as though they can achieve the tasks set before them for each suceeding lesson. Read More

Instruments: Bass Guitar

I have taught privately on and off for 5 years now and I have taught all levels and at a variety of ages. No student is the same so in the past I have set out a path for each student dependent on what they want out of music and what interests they have. I believe in making lessons fun but at the same time I want my students to really go away from each lesson feeling inspired to practice and feeling like their time with me was well spent and they learned a lot. I taught beginning class piano to two sections as a professor for the fall 2017 semester. Since then, I have been newly relocated to the Orange Park Florida area where I teach private piano at the Orange Park School of Music which has been so rewarding for me. In my lessons, students, along with the parent and I decide on the goals of music instruction which is what the lessons are based off of. Read More

I've found the best way to teach is to cater to each student's interest. While early or beginning players may require some fundamental grunt work, there is always a way to assure that it's fun too. Earlier students would need to start learning the basics: rhythm, learning to read, developing technique through scales etc. of which there are many methods. As students mature, I feel the Suzuki method for aspiring classical students is the best route (there are multiple books in this series) along with some other extensive and more challenging works. Instruments: Piano

As previously stated, I love sharing my passion for music and piano with my students! With that being said, watching my students grow as a musician is truly an amazing experience to be apart of! I love to have a good balance with my students of working with technique but also working on something that is fun to play or something of the students pick so that the interest and motivation to play is as high as possible. Instruments: Piano

My name is Joshua. I am a 26 year old pianist who has been playing for 20 years. I am an experienced teacher, performer, and composer. I play around town in a Jazz duo, as well as in a 3 person band. I have been teaching for over 5 years and enjoy helping my students expand their mind and reach their goals for musical education. I like to find a piece from a composer or recent artist that the student enjoys so that we can balance the more tedious elements of the lesson with something fun. Read More
