I have been teaching professionally for 11 years. Before I began my professional teaching career I already had several years of experience instructing my two younger siblings in violin and cello, even serving as a primary instructor to one of the siblings at one point. I have mainly taught private lessons out of my home. I have established an exceptional playing career spanning from Middle and High School, having won chairs in multiple All-District honor bands, to performing with numerous ensembles spanning genres such as classical, jazz, and funk. Currently, I actively perform with the Greensboro Concert Band, Tobacco Road Trombones, and the Kings of Swing Jazz Orchestra. Generally, I approach the subject matter with firm but relaxed expectations, giving the students freedom but also requiring them to pursue a specified goal. I have been playing the violin for the past nine years and have had four excellent violin instructors, each with different backgrounds and approaches to violin instruction. Because of this, I have had well-rounded education in the violin which is a great benefit in my violin teaching. Up to this point, I have taught violin to six different students and have seen each of them make remarkable progress.
