Instruments: Trumpet
I am a young aspiring student just like those that I teach and, therefore I enjoy having fun and keeping the student engaged as I understand how hard it is to focus when beginning to play an instrument like the trumpet which may seems mundane at first. My main quote for success is to,"aim for the moon and if you fail you will land among the stars." I encourage my students to set goals that may be a little outside of their comfort zone, but I will never set a goal that is outside the level of achievement for a specific students skills. Read More

Hello! My name is Jeremy and I enjoy giving brass lessons to students of all ages and ability levels. At my studio, I can give lessons in piano, bass trombone, trombone, tuba, euphonium, baritone and Trumpet. Enthusiasm, patience, persistence, and good communication skills have all allowed me to help brass players understand their musical challenges and live up to their potential. I am a personable teacher who enjoys developing positive relationships with my students. Read More
Instruments: Piano Voice
Music is a very physical thing as well as a very abstract thing. In my lessons, there will be kennistetic learning through movement as well as teaching through sensation. Using tools like Solfege it helps create muscle memory and tuning. Piano students will learn a wealth of theory knowledge, correct posture and fingering patterns. I will also encourage singing in my piano lessons to reaffirm the student's aural skills. The Alexander Technique is also something that my students will explore in our lessons. Read More
Instruments: Piano
At the first lesson is just seeing where they are and what kind of music they would want to play(hymnal songs, gospel songs, soundtracks, opera, classical etc). Then at the beginning of each lesson would be theory(note recognition, counting, fingering etc). Then review on what they practiced for the week and if they are confident with the pieces add a few more songs. At Christmas time and the end of spring I like to have to have a recital for the students to play a few of the songs they learned for their friends and family. Read More

I first find out a little bit about my students musical likes and taste, or, with younger students, find somethingfun that interests them, just to find some common ground. I also find out a students long term goals. For instance, if a student seeks to be a opera singer as opposed to a worship leader, the training needs to be more pointed towards classical pieces and Arias instead of learning church music and how to engage a crowd. Instruments: Voice
For beginner students who are children I would begin with Gregory Blankenbehler's Singing Lessons for Little Children so the child gets a grasp on fundamentals before continuing onto solo music. For adults, it would depend on their music level, their ability, and what they are passionate about. Read More
Instruments: Voice Music
As a musical theatre performer, voice teacher and coach, I have learned the singer’s paramount need is to maintain vocal health and consistency of performance. This is achieved by laying a foundation of solid vocal training, focusing on the healthy functional use of the voice with emphasis on the following aspects to develop a secure singing technique: · Determination of correct voice category and range · Proper breath support and natural resonance · Alignment of body and larynx · Relaxation of the jaw, tongue and pharynx · Correct diction and articulation · Ear training exercises · Repertoire selection appropriate to age and voice type · Interpretation-integrating text and musical expression Read More
