I have earned Honorable Mention in the OU Concerto Competition, and I received the Most Outstanding Clarinet Studio Member as a sophomore. I was also the clarinetist in the Undergraduate Woodwind Quintet. As a member, we placed 2nd in the OkMEA Regional Chamber Competition. I love to watch singers reach their full potential by helping them find their true singing voice and perform with confidence and freedom!  I began performing at age three and have sung and played different styles and genres for different audiences ever since.  My foundational training is in classical voice, earning my Bachelors of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Mississippi in 1991.  I was then awarded an Apprenticeship with the Knoxville Opera and a Graduate Teaching Assistantship at the University of Tennessee, where I earned my Masters of Music in Vocal Performance in 1993. Performed and/or recorded almost any style of music ranging from Jazz with the Collin College big band, top combo, and University of North Texas forum ensembles, to Country with artists such as Kevin Deal and Jake Ward. Additionally, I have played bass at a number of churches around the DFW Metroplex some of which include Southlake Baptist, Creekwood United Methodist, Crossroads Bible Church, and First United Methodist McKinney. I have also been a member of several local level Denton indie rock and pop bands, and have experience in an orchestra at the high school level in which I qualified for UIL State solo and ensemble in 2013. I also had the opportunity to do a study abroad Opera program with Oberlin in Italy where I was able to study with teachers from the Eastman School of Music.
