My students will not only begin with the basic fundamentals of singing, breathing techniques, and music theory; but they will also learn the anatomy of the voice and how the body allows the sound to be produced. For beginners, I usually start with the fundamentals of the guitars and it's anatomy. I split my lessons with theory and scales/studies, and then we switch to the students desired repertoire. I like to also add duets and songs or pieces in which me and the student play together, to strengthen the confidence to play with other players. I generally ask what your musical interests are and then I find a method specific for each person. I work on identifying chords, improvisation,playing melodies and song writing as well. I am a fan of William levitts books or jazz guitar which is a method I learned at berklee and is a very useful book for picking teqnique in a fun way , exploring some classical etudes for electrical guitar and i find this to be a great tool for developing speed, ear training and identifying chords with different sonorities to them.
