Music, at its most basic, should be fun, and I try to impart that to my students. Lessons with me involve jokes, fun music, and taking our music making to the extreme. In addition, I strive to teach music as a language; learning it both aurally and visually, developing an ear for music and self-evaluation while learning to read the notes on the page. I had my own piano studio for 5 years and I used to hold annual recital. I took a break of teaching due to relocation. I am passionate about teaching kids piano (mostly classical and a little pops) to keep them engaged. I do request consistent practice of more than 30 minutes a week for young students. It help to establish routine for them to be successful later in piano. If a students need more help, I do recommend a longer lesson (45 minutes) or twice a week lesson. Read More

Lessons are geared to the individual student. I try to provide a warm and friendly atmosphere while providing a professional experience for the students. Theory is emphasized as well as technique for both the piano and voice student. Most voice students will get a basic knowledge of music reading skills while piano students tend to have a bit more in depth studies. Playing is a big part of the creative process, in that it involves experimenting and finding new ideas, thoughts, and processes that work best for each individual and that will lead to the perfect practice and the excitement of performance.
