Each student is unique in their own way, from how they learn to how they produce an end product. But one thing I stress in my teaching with all students is demonstration, imitation and repetition. The old adage that says, "practice makes perfect", is not always right. If the student is practice wrong, they will perform it wrong. When others are involved in the lesson it can cause a student to become self conscious and therefore effects their progress. I'm a classical pianist and organist who has been studying music for 19 years. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Houghton College in 2018, which included a minor in Keyboard Studies and a Senior Recital played on the Organ. I've been an active Church Musician for the last 10 years, and am currently employed as the Organist and Choir Director at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
