In 2009, I graduated from Tianjin Conservatory of Music with a Bachelor of Arts in Keyboards Performance. I am a clarinetist, educator, and performer that has a passion for all kinds of music. I perform a variety of genres including chamber, orchestral, and solo music, as well avant-garde. In 2015 I graduated magna cum laude from the University of North Texas with a Bachelor's degree in clarinet performance. I cater my teaching and methods to each individual student and his/her needs and goals. For beginners, I often use Hal Leonard’s Essential Elements. After progressing past that, the Rubank books and Hite etudes work for many students. Starting around 8th grade, I introduce solo repertoire appropriate to their level. During lessons, I always have students work on some form of scale, sight-reading, and ear training. I have several duet books (and a Disney book!) that students love to sight-read from. Read More

In my time as an instructor, I have not used any particular method book in my lessons. I will buy a notebook for each student where all important information from the lesson will be recorded. I write charts and exercises myself using tablature or standard notion depending on the student.
