I began teaching piano to local children in the neighborhood as a teen-ager and have always found the experience to be interesting, rewarding challenging and enjoyable. I have experience teaching students of all ages (5 to 80), with a wide range of abilities and interests. I have prepared students who are interested to participate in recitals, festivals and to take exams such as those from the Toronto Conservatory of Music. For beginning students I typically start with Hannon and my own finger exercises. I ask the the student to draw notes on a staff so they can get familiar with reading and composing music. I hold a Master's Degree in Piano Performance from the University of Connecticut, Storrs, combined with over twenty years of experience as an Arranger, Music Consultant, Vocal Coach, Technical Supervisor, Piano Teacher and Accompanist. During my undergraduate career at Western Connecticut State University I studied and appeared with many great performing artists including the late Skitch Henderson, Ksenia Nosikova, William Braun, and composer Joseph Schwantner.
