Instruments: Trumpet
I have been teaching trumpet since 2008 where I have been giving private, in home instruction. All of my students take part in the NYSSMA festival and annually score at the top of their class. Some students have made it into the SCMEA, NYSCAME, and All-State Festivals. I am a trained classical trumpeter and I am proficient on the Bb, C, Eb, A piccolo, G Bugle, and Flugelhorn trumpets. As a freelance musician in the tri-state area I play in a variety of ensembles which include: swing bands, symphonic orchestras, musicals, operas, parade bands, and various community bands. Read More
Instruments: Voice
I have been teaching since getting my masters in 1999 - from Brooklyn and NYC to New Haven, CT, where I now teach vocal technique to all ages at the Educational Center for The Arts (Performing Arts High School) and at the Neighborhood Music School. I love to teach healthy singing to all ages, styles and levels, and lessons are alot of fun and immensely productive. My students succeed at their goals, whether it's to sing the leads in shows, get into college for voice, choir, opera or just fun at home! Read More

I am a firm believer in not re-inventing the wheel. I don't use my own lesson plans. I meet with students to see what they know and what they want to learn, and then use books, YouTube videos or tutorials to teach - learn with- students. A typical curriculum for me first learning the chromatic scale, then the major two octave scale. Then the minor two octave scale, then basic major and minor chords. Read More

There are many method books available, one that I have used is "Piano Adventures" by Nancy and Randall Faber. There are many series of books now available with varied styles of music from beginning to intermediate levels such as those by Martha Mier, Robert Vandall and Christopher. Very young students and sometimes even those who are older have difficulty understanding musical notation and it is useful to teach them by rote while also improving reading skills. Read More

I am an extremely passionate artist and looking to pass along the love I have for music onto willing students. I graduated from the University of Delaware in 2015 with two degrees, a Bachlor of Music in Music Education and a BM in Music Composition. I am currently attending the Hartt School of Music in Hartford, CT, where I am pursuing a Masters in Music Composition. I am a very active young composer and have had my music performed at many places along the east coast. Read More

I love to have fun in my lessons. No single student understands the same thing the same way so I take the time to listen/understand them as a person and as a musician. While it would be wonderful if all of my students became virtuosi musicians, I understand that sometimes math class may be at the forefront of their attention. That said, practice is still required. Like a doctor, I prescribe solutions to students to help them achieve their goals and will do everything I can to help them to succeed but if they dont take the remedy, success is can be quite slow.
