Instruments: Guitar Lap Steel Guitar Mandolin
I started playing guitar when I was 12. At first, I wanted to play the rock I heard on the radio (who remembers 96.5 The Mountain???), but as I grew older my interests also grew. I dug into classic rock, then blues and jazz. I also grew more interested in the folk music my dad always played in the car when I was a kid. I studied music composition and classical guitar in college. Read More
Instruments: Piano
Students want to learn the piano for a variety of reasons. Some arent really sure they want to learn at all, but mom wants them to give it a shot! Others just want to learn that song on the radio! All are fine reasons to learn, and each deserves a personal approach. For very young students just learning the basics, structure provides direction and comfort, so Id recommend jumping into a beginners curriculum such as by Alfred or Hal Leonard and going from there. Instruments: Voice Flute Recorder Piccolo
I began began my musical career as an elementary school student selecting the flute as my primary instrument. I dedicated over four hours a day to practice and skill development. My time in high school led me to perform in several high profile venues which include: Orlando Theme Parks, halftime shows with Ronnie Millsap, and The Georgia Mass Choir. Additionally, I was invited to perform with several honor bands which include: Georgia All State Band, All District Band and All Region Marching Band. Read More
Instruments: Piano Trumpet Flute Keyboard
I do not have a specific teaching style. Being a teacher is a learning experience for the teacher just as much as it is for the student. Every student learns a different way and can require a unique way of teaching. No one student will get the same teaching method. Overall, I do approach each lesson with patients, the wanting for the student to succeed and making the lesson fun but also productive. Read More
Instruments: Drums
My methods vary from student to student. Everyone learns differently. Although i recommend learning how to read music, it is not required and there have been plenty of great drummers that do not read. A normal lesson consists of covering all aspects of learning an instrument. We will do things such as go over sight reading, playing along to tracks, studying what makes the drum set sound great, as well as listening to music and watching videos of drummers that inspire us. Instruments: Piano Voice
I have been teaching piano 20 years ago as a first job out of a small church in Millersburg, Ohio. I had been taking piano since I was three and had been doing competition piano. I then went to Otterbein College and earned my degree in Voice. From there I started working for Music and Arts in Westerville as a piano instructor for 10 years. I went on to run my own business for those students that needed in home lessons. Read More
