I have taught dozens students from over 20 countries about songwriting, guitar playing, singing, lyric writing, piano, ukulele and more. Since 2011 I have played in over 1000 stages, starting in my hometown of Corrientes, Argentina, at first playing on the streets for tips and later moving onto bars, later theaters, and now touring full time. Teaching has always been something I have gravitated towards, specially after several requests from my listeners. My approach is hands-on. Lessons are structured with free-play and ear-training to warm up. This is followed by 15-25 minutes studying methods and etudes. The last hour or so is dedicated to solo or performance repertoire. I work to cultivate an atmosphere of safety. Mistakes are expected, its more important that the student plays with conviction; we can clean it up later. I attended Loyola University New Orleans as a Jazz Studies major from 2008-2011, taking a 3 year sabbatical to perform and tour with the two bands I co-founded. Both of these groups commanded a prolific performance load in and around the greater New Orleans area and surrounding cities and states. I always start beginning students with proper technique. I believe that great technique is the foundation of a great musician. I use a few different method books including Hal Leonard's Essential Elements, Stick Control for the Snare Drummer, Modern Rudimental Swing Solos, Tommy Igoe's Groove Essentials among others. I also believe that all musicians, especially drummers should have a strong rhythmic foundation so I incorporate sight-reading, call and response, and ear training to build the young musicians' instincts.
