The first lesson is focused on my assessment of a students skills, interests, and learning styles. From there I will determine the most useful resources for each student. I will work with the method book that is being used in a student's school, in addition to method books designed for individual skill development such as the Rubank Method Books or Suzuki Method for string instruments. There are many books on drums and piano or voice. I have to get to know the student to determine what I will use to get better results. It will depend on their age and attitude and initial talent. Also, a lot of kids are busy at school and don't have much time for practice.
