I believe a well-rounded and practical approach to teaching music-- where students learn to not only read music, but also play freely with chords and scales to create their own music, learn by ear, and improvise. My goal is to help students grow so that they can play music in a personal and rewarding way, and develop the skills they need to play the songs that they love. I use a variety of methods for young beginners (depending on their age) - Faber Faber, Alfred, Alfred Premiere, Bastien, and Hal Leonard. For beginning adult students, I find Faber Faber for the older beginner to well paced to teach fundamentals. My digital piano has engaging learning games to reinforce fundamental note reading and rhythm, as well as aural training, chord recognition, and sight reading play along songs. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music. Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I feel that it is very important to be supportive and encouraging to each student and to verbally acknowledge their accomplishments. I have been playing drums for over 10 years and I am passionate about teaching and playing music. I have studied at Berklee College of Music and at Marian University in Indianapolis. In the Fall of 2008 I received the Fellowship Award from the Indianapolis Jazz Foundation. I have also spent time performing around the Indianapolis area, most notably at the Jazz Kitchen. I consider myself more of a Jazz fusion player but love to play Jazz, Rock, Funk, Latin, Pop, R & B and many other styles of music. Read More

Margaret Pardee was one of my notable teachers when I studied at Juilliard as a Fulbright scholar. Miss Pardee was Ivan Galamian's assistant trough his teaching career. I hold a Doctoral Diploma from a National Conservatory in Italy where I learned the legendary tradition of the ITALIAN violin school: from Vivaldi to Viotti, from Viotti to Rolla, from Rolla to Paganini, from Paganini to Sivori, from Sivori to Serato and from Serato to Gulli.
