The first lesson typically is to set expectations and evaluate the students level of guitar knowledge. For beginners, we start from the beginning utilizing Aaron Shearers method book. For the intermediate player, we find music that is appropriate for their level of playing while also focusing on reading music and music theory applied to the guitar. For advanced players, we begin by reviewing music theory applied to guitar and focus on music for their level of playing. advanced players will go through the same practices as a university student studying guitar performance. For beginning students, around ages 5-9, I start with easy songs, but also teach them how singing works. I like to teach technique, and help students improve in their singing. Once students have grasped the fundamentals of singing, I'll let them start looking at solo repertoire so they can practice for a recital performance. I was born in August 1984 in New Halkidona-Athens, Greece. At the age of 7, I started my musical education by taking piano lessons. I did not finish my piano studies but the fire of music was burning strong inside me, and at the age of 15 i decided to study drums. Music has been one of my passions since I was a little girl! I took up piano at age 8, violin at 13, and drums at 15. I've been known to belt out a tune here and there, too! There is nothing better than having an afternoon to lose yourself to creating and playing music. In high school, I was Concert Master of the Philharmonic Orchestra. I've had the opportunity to perform on the drums at various venues and was invited by my drum instructor to return to the studio to become an instructor myself, where I taught for three years.
