Teaching is something that I have always done, in addition to performing. I incorporate fundamentals and musicality with every student, but each student learns differently and has different goals. I do not have a set curriculum, I gear the study to the student, what the student needs and wants to accomplish. I began studying voice prior to college with world renowned teacher, Helen Boatwright in Syracuse, NY. This training was classical. Loving jazz, I started also to sing with Dianna Spradling at Syracuse University. Soon after, I decided to go to college for musical theatre at The Boston Conservatory where I continued my studies with Walter Boyce and Robert Honeysucker, both of whom used a more classical technique. Other method books by Cavallini, C. Rose, Baerman, Stark, Kell, Opperman and many more will be used to expand repertoire and push the limits of technique. Additionally, Solo repertoire from my extensive collection of music will be assigned. For students interested in auditioning for youth orchestras or bands and competing in competitions , lessons will be committed to audition preparation and technical development through scales and arpeggios. I have performed with orchestral, Church, Jazz, Band and Chamber Music ensembles in Cleveland Ohio and Detroit,MI. I studied at the Cleveland Institute of Music with Linda Muhlert(Frumker). I also had some lessons with Myron Bloom of the Cleveland Orchestra. In the Southfield Symphony Orchestra, I performed next to Bryan Kennedy of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra as 2nd horn on the Maurice Ravel Mother Goose Suite. In 2005 I graduated from the Journeyman Program in Musical Performance at Musicians Institute in Hollywood California. I started taking Drum lessons of my own at Southern Thumb Music in Richmond, MI around the age of 10. My teacher, Keith Ottenbacher, was a great guy who taught me everything I know in every style. It was also there that I participated in many Percussion ensembles that earned many awards throughout the state. Not only ensembles, but independent Snare performance, earning high rankings and several 1st place awards. I started playing in bands around the age of 14, and traveling to do shows around Michigan.
