It's been my strong belief that every student is unique in all aspects - it is my responsibility to recognize the uniqueness of the student, and individualize the lesson for each student's need. I am familiar with multiple methods - the most common ones include Alfred Basic Library, PIano Adventures, Music Tree, and Piano Safari; other methods include Bastien Piano Basics, Hal Leonard's Essential Elements, and many others. I use different methods with different students - decisions are usually made after the initial interview or when I have sufficient observation of the student's learning style, background, and personality. Once technical foundations are estabished, I will add ear training as well as theory and improvisation. Music has been the greatest blessing of my life, and to share this art and craft with students is one of the most fulfilling aspects of that. I have a Bachelors and Masters degree from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. I have performed in venues as small as tents in Mendocino and Bear Valley, and as large as the Davies Symphony Hall and the War Memorial Opera House. I have experience as a classical bassist, as well as a jazz bassist, going as far as to play with a Hip-Hop Orchestra and do improvisation accompanying spoken word. Read More

I start my beginning students with Alfred guitar method. If someone wants classical lessons I start them with the Fredrick Noad books and some Sor and Segovia studies. Throughout my years in Colorado, I worked several years as a volunteer music teacher assistant. During this time, I worked with children from as little as preschool all the way up to 7th graders and got them engaged in a musical environment. After this, I began teaching private piano lessons to close individuals who wanted to introduced to the instrument.
