I graduated with my Bachelors in Voice from DePauw University in 2017 where I studied with Caroline Smith. I am currently pursuing my Masters in Vocal Performance at the University of North Florida with James C. Hall. i teach each student individually that is to say that i tailor the lessons to meet the level and desires of the student . i include teaching theory as i go along with each student. i tell each student that there is no such thing as a mistaked, there is only learning. i usually teach two songs in the first hour lesson . one in four four time and one in three four time . i also teach how to transpose any song that the student wishes to learn into the key that the student is able to sing the song in. again . nothing is hard . it is only new. I believe in encouraging my students and supporting them, having them reach acheviable goals and having them work at a pace that is realistic I believe will develop their understanding and love for music. By combining a students interest with essential fundamentals of music I have found that my previous students have advanced their playing whilst denjoying the experience. When passing on my love for music I like to play a piece of music to my students and try to convey why this music is important to me and I like to hear pieces that my students love so I can see where they are coming from.
