I have over 20 years of experience playing brass and 17 years as a Bass Trombonist. I studied under Mexican Symphony Orchestra trombonist David Quintinar and have played with the Solano Symphony Orchestra, Benicia Ballet, Sacramento Youth Symphony, Pasadena Community Symphony, and countless smaller rock and jazz groups. Teaching Philosophy I believe that a students passion for learning music begins with the instructors passion for teaching music. Even after 20 years, I find that I enjoy working with students as much today as my first year teaching. What fuels this passion, for me, is to constantly expand what I teach, and improve the way in which I teach it. For beginning students who are children, I introduce theory, rhythm, as well as the instrument to give them a basic understanding of all of the aspects of music. Once the students has a basic grasp of the fundamentals, we will learn songs appropriate for their level. For adult students, I try to teach based on their interests, choose appropriate repertoire and help them meet and accomplish their own goals. I've performed since I was eleven when I first decided to try music as a hobby, and in high school I realized that music wasn't just a hobby. It was a passion!
