Instruments: Guitar Bass Guitar
I have been teaching bass and guitar for 10+ years. Even in high school I had several students part time. For me, spreading my passion and love for music to others has been a source of great joy. In the last several years I continue to have a small roster of private students while I am actively gigging and rehearsing for projects. I find that meeting new students and getting to know their goals as a musicians is incredibly inspiring. Read More

I am a firm believer in "sound before sight" techniques at the very beginning. Students will learn strong fundamentals and start making a great sound that will encourage them to keep on playing. Eventually, written music is essential, and I tend to use a wide variety of printed books including various "band" methods (Essential Elements, Sound Innovations, etc.) I'm happy to work with whichever book students are required to have for their in-school lessons. Instruments: Voice
I began teaching in my Junior year of my undergraduate degree at Westminster for a community outreach program. One of my longest standing students is now attending that college for voice performance as well. I taught mostly younger girls who wanted to sing in choir or the school musical. Some were very serious and others just wanted to have a fun hobby. But they all loved to sing and I had the opportunity to excite them even more, and help them follow the path of music. Read More
Instruments: Piano Trumpet Trombone Drums Bass Guitar Organ Euphonium Tuba
Currently I use the Hal Leonard series which I believe is best for beginner and intermediate students. I typically give advanced students a variety of choices that best suites their playing style. It is important to keep the student focused while making lesson time enjoyable as well as educational. Read More

Teaching for me is the difference between passion and disaster. With the right push, anyone can feel the need to play music. Music isn't supposed to be intended for a chosen few. My first teachers really engrained that into my mind when I first started learning. Through this, I have learned to create an environment where there are no mistakes, only chances to learn. It if very hard to continue in something so subjective, like music, constantly berating ones self. Read More
Instruments: Trumpet Euphonium
My teaching experience dates back to my mid-high school days, where I would teach elementary and junior high students brass technique in one-on-one settings, help teach my junior high jazz band, and teach a combo that I put together myself. As time went on, I gradually built up my studio to a part-time gig in college. During summers in college, I would teach various marching band camps and work as the RA at a jazz camp. Read More
Instruments: Drums
I have been teaching music since I was in High-School. My mentor and fellow drummer, is my main influence. He goes by the name of Nate Barnes. I have been playing for 20 years now. 18 years professionally. My first time playing live was at the age of 5. I am excited to begin teaching students about the art of music and in this case, drums. Here, we’ll have fun, enjoy the tasks at hand and build great future musicians. Read More
