I learned a lot from the dozens of teachers I took private lesons with growing up. In 2010 I was a counselor for a music camp in Upstate New York. I worked with young kids and helped teach them pop/classic songs. I've had a Diaspora class in college on teaching drumset to beginngers. I am an adjunct flute instructor at NYU, and through this position I have taught many students at all different skill levels with different goals. I am a flexible teacher, and am able to cater my teaching style to the students' goals, level, and learning style. I of course want all my students to have a strong foundations of fundamental flute playing, which starts with strong technique and sound. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more.
