For beginning students that have already been studying through a school program or are already working with instructional material, I am more than happy to jump in and tailor my instruction accordingly. For students that have no musical background whatsoever, I can supply materials as I see fit, given the disposition of the student. Also, I am happy to create custom lesson plans (etudes and short studies) to meet the specific needs of novice students in an effort to increase the enjoyment and efficiency of the learning process. I think that having a good frame of reference for what something is supposed to sound like makes being able to learn to play it a bit easier - no guessing! As progress is made we continue to learn more technique and theory, but always contextualizing with real word musical examples. I find that this not only helps the material stick, but also makes practicing much more engaging and fun! Read More

I work primarily with young students, we start with Book 1 of Accent on Achievement. Trombone fundamentals take a lot of time given that students must build actual muscle strength in addition to learning to read music and understanding the instrument. After a student has hit a sufficient range, we move onto the Rochut etude books. Read More

I specialize in teaching classical art song and opera, but also enjoy teaching the musical theater repertoire and popular genres. I have been a teaching artist and assistant music teacher for junior highs and high schools, and an intern at Little Opera, a company that puts opera composition and performance in the hands of elementary school students. I have performed the roles of Mabel in Pirates of Penzance, Adele in Die Fledermaus. Read More

Each student has their own personality, goals, and learning style. I tailor the lessons to each individual student according to where they are and what they want to learn. While every one of my students will get the fundamentals they need to play the drums, we will design specific goals and work to achieve them. Together we will work to overcome your frustrations and have FUN making maximum improvement in the shortest time possible. Read More
