Carl received clarinet performance degrees from the University of Texas at Austin (B.M.) and from Eastman School of Music (M.M.). He is a current doctoral candidate and Teaching Assistant Graduate Award recipient at Eastman School of Music. His principle clarinet teachers have been Richard MacDowell, Nathan Williams, Kenneth Grant and Jon Manasse. I am a Rochester Musician and Educator who loves sharing the joy of music with students of all ages. I grew up learning music in the Rochester area and received a scholarship to Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA in 2015. I graduated in 2018 with a Bachelor's Degree in Professional Music. He has been drumming for over 10 years and has been gigging professionally for over 6 years, performing in a variety of contexts, including both large and small jazz ensembles, funk bands, hip hop groups, singer-songwriters, and pop bands. He cultivates a unique sound at the drums, combining elements of African, Caribbean, and South American rhythms with traditional Western grooves to create something entirely fresh and powerful.
