I have been told that I am a very energetic and encouraging teacher - I want my students to succeed and to be happy in their singing! I defintely will not stay seated behind the piano for the entire lesson. I like to get up and get involved! I won't ask students to try anything that I won't demonstrate myself first, which I have found usually puts them at ease (this is especially true with children and teens.) I have been a voice student myself for many years, so I know how it feels to be in their shoes, and I try to be as constructive and encouraging as possible while helping them discover their voice. The most important things for any classical guitarist are: Mauro Giuliani’s right hand arpeggio studies, Matteo Carcassi’s Etudes, Fernando Sor’s etudes among exercises I’ve learned and created personally. Other great rescources are Scott Tennant’s Book “Pumping Nylon” and Pepe Romero’s book “La Guitarra”, which are about $20 a book. Read More
