My teaching experience is extremely broad and deep as I have had the pleasure of being a music director for many performing ensembles throughout Georgia and have won numerous top honors and awards at competitions and festival showcases throughout the country. Simultaneously as a live performing musician I was directing students in a broad genre of music since the inception of my career and these groups would perform as individual solo artist or as a full ensemble and have a great experience earning top honors and awards at all presentations. From 2020 - present, every summer I have been teaching at the Hilton Head Jazz Camp. This jazz camp is a week-long intensive learning experience. Jazz musicians from all over the U.S. come to teach at the camp and help the students learn about jazz. In this camp I had the responsibility of teaching theory, improvisation, sight reading, and musicality with playing. Other experience I have teaching is every so often I get hired to fill in for a teacher to teach a jazz combo at a youth jazz program in Atlanta. Read More

There is no such thing as a "best method for everybody" but better methods for people's unique needs. For beginners, texts from Hal Leonard, Jamey Aebersold and Alfred's piano course are great examples to guide students through, but ultimately the specific text doesn't matter as long as I can teach the fundamentals necessary to be performance ready. After the basics are mastered, I'll introduce the skills needed for a first recital. Read More

I began teaching my first student when I was in high school. I enjoyed it so much that I decided then that I would incorporate teaching piano in my future. After I had my twins and became a stay at home mom, I began to teach students in my studio. I was instructed by two professors for almost 20 years in private lessons. I have played for more than 300 weddings, funerals, and receptions. Read More

My teaching experience starts 6 years ago when I started teaching marching band in Douglasville, Ga. I marched baritone with Spirit of Atlanta in 2013 and 2014. As time progressed, I started to teach music with local schools through Georgia State University and private connections as either a section coach or a private instructor. My private studio, with brass students, has been running for about two years now. I strive to place the student's interests first through my teaching while also covering the basics of what needs to be learned. Read More
Instruments: Saxophone Clarinet
My teaching experience began in high school where, as a junior, I began teaching middle school saxophone players. As I went through high school I began to realize that I had a knack for teaching young players one-on-one as opposed to a large classroom, this is what inspired me to study music performance as opposed to music education. When I moved to Kennesaw to change majors from Classical to Jazz Saxophone Performance, I realized how fortunate I was to now know how to teach both classical and jazz genres of my instrument.
