I'm an organized and efficient teacher who loves to find ways to push students to the next level; whether that level is playing professionally or as a hobby. I believe in clear direction and learning how to play the right way the first time. I have been teaching lessons since 2006 when I started as a music major at Asbury Univeristy, a private, liberal arts college outside of Lexington, KY. Because of my love of music I consdier myself a lifelong learner and it is my passion to teach what I've learned to others. Read More

I have always had a deep appreciation, understanding and desire to spread and teach my passion for music. I started playing classical piano when I was 7 years old. In 2004 I graduated from Fairfield University with a business degree. I have had the honor of performing at Carnegie Hall in Manhattan and music venues all over the world. One of my most memorable experiences was playing along side Robbie Krieger of, "The Doors," at the Whisky A Go Go in West Hollywood. Read More

I began teaching private lessons full time in 2011. I know that when students have fun and see progress at every lesson, they are motivated to become better musicians. As a result, progress is quicker and my students retain what they have learned. I've also found that a combination of classical and modern music, as well as learning music I have composed, helps students enjoy the piano and motivates them to practice and continue to see improvements in their understanding and playing abilities. I began teaching my first student when I was in high school. I enjoyed it so much that I decided then that I would incorporate teaching piano in my future. After I had my twins and became a stay at home mom, I began to teach students in my studio. I was instructed by two professors for almost 20 years in private lessons. I have played for more than 300 weddings, funerals, and receptions. Read More

I have an easy going personality and like to have fun so I try to make my lessons feel the same way. I'm not overly harsh or judgmental but instead I try to make each lesson a true learning experience where there's no pressure and the student is free to make mistakes (even encouraged to take risk and make mistakes) in pursuit of their passion of music. I believe when a student feels free to be themselves with their instrument it will result in a faster learning curve and more excitement to learn. Read More
