For my beginner students, I start by introducing them to the drum kit, providing a bit of history, and understanding their personal goals for learning drums. We focus on fundamentals, including drum notation, and by the end of the first lesson, most students can play a basic groove and fillgiving them the tools to start learning their favorite songs.
