I began my vocal private studio while working on my Masters degree in Copenhagen in 2007. Since then I have maintained an active studio in various cities including Miami and New York City with students of all ages and levels of experience. Orff and Kodály are the requirements throughout my college study, which I integrated into my teaching and found it helpful for developing students' sense of music. I am familiar with the major piano teaching system, including Faber, Bastien, Alfred and Baker. I evaluated the student's instinct on the piano at the first lesson to decide which material is good for them. For beginners I teach the fundamentals such as found in the Rubank Elementary Method for Trumpet. I stress accuracy, correct breathing, and tone development. I try to stress the importance of daily practice. I encourage my students to enjoy making music, and never to be discouraged. Having to work in different settings and styles I became exposed to solving musical problems whatever their nature could be. I have directed choirs and taught to sing with quality and confidence people who could not even hold sing in tune, in Cuba and in Jamaica where I lived and worked for seven years and was the resident pianist at the Ritz Carlton hotel and choir director at the Arts Center there.
