My teaching experience dates back to my school days, as I began teaching private lessons part time ,from 2003,and have been consistently teaching students in my home and at students homes, for the last 10 years. Encouraging regular practice on a consistent schedule is one of the key points I like to emphasize for the younger students, as it tends to help the student progress. Thanks to my studying of violin teaching methodology,I found that, there’s no ideal formula of teaching violin to everyone, the same way ,as ,there’s no ideal magor or minor scale, for practicing only that technique to achieve the best result, as people have defferent cultural and musical backgrounds, so student should enjoy the lesson and have fun while learning . Whether it be to yourself, someone you want to sound like, or your favorite band, the best way to focus your efforts while learning is to know who you want to sound like and what kind of music you want to make. From there, everything else falls into place. I approach every lesson with every student with a focus on patience, empathy, dedication to excellence for myself and my student, and a big dose of fun! For younger students and for beginners, I spend a good amount of time on laying out the basics of the instrument, the foundational techniques of playing, basic music theory, and discussions that allow the student to tell me what influences them and what they most want to achieve in music. I worked with the vocalists in sectionals as well as one adult beginner flute player who I am good friends with. I later became the student assistant for that same ensemble my last semester in undergraduate as I continued to give critique and work with the flute student who was just starting, on the flute fundamentals such as sound, breathing, scales and long tones. Guitar has a bit of a steep learning curve at first, so I work on the basics of forming a good sound and producing clean notes and chords. Once that's established, I try to inspire students by showing just how much music can be made with as little as three chords. I'll help students learn their favorite songs and use those as an avenue for learning more technique. The best way to learn is by doing something interesting, so I use drills to help reinforce the songs students actually want to learn how to play. Read More
