I have been playing and studying guitar for 23 years and teaching for 5 years. The online courses I am currently taking are the first formal lessons of my life. I think this has given me a really patient teaching style that involves no stress. I have used various tools such as books and videos. Hundreds of which I still use today. I continue to learn as a musician every time I play. Read More

I'm fairly flexible, laid back in my teaching style, and always passionate about helping those who need it. At the same time, I also encourage discipline and consistency in practicing and making improvements. I always try to keep each student learning at least one new thing for each lesson, while allowing him or her to make steady and consistent progress without getting stuck in a rut. I always encourage steady and consistent practice throughout the week to further individual progress and get closer to desired results. Read More

For beginning students, I use Faber and Faber's Piano Adventures, which offers a variety of supplemental material to encourage a variety of styles. As a musician who values both classical music and improvisation, I teach my students how to use chord sheets very soon after they begin to read music. As their skills increase, so will the variety of music I introduce based on their interest. Since I quit piano at one point around age 10, I empathize with struggling students and try to make music as fun and accessible as possible to help them truly grow a lifelong love of music! Read More
Instruments: Bass Guitar
I absolutely love teaching bass/guitar lessons and recording techniques, and I've been doing it since just after my Berklee College of Music days. I learned from the best (Dave LaRue, Oscar Stagnaro, Bruce Gertz & Joe Santerre) and from years and years of performing live with countless original and cover bands, stage bands, wedding bands, jazz ensembles, big bands, orchestras and marching bands. My experience as a recording/mixing engineer has greatly helped to mold my overall musicianship, as I have had the unique opportunity to work with many incredibly talented musicians, songwriters, producers, engineers, actors and creative-minded people. For advanced players, I like to take a deep dive into an area that they have historically struggled with, whether it be composition, improvisation, using theory as a lense to better understand how their favorite music works, transcribing, and more. My comprehension of rhythmic theory and harmonic theory is very deep and intuitive. Let's take a really close look at an area where you've been struggling and help you to elevate your skill to a masterful level. Read More

Music is a powerful gift that should be shared with everyone. As an educator my mission is to develop a life long love for music and the capability to expresses themselves with it so they can connect with others around the world. As well as to use the process of learning music and the skills that come from it in other aspects of their lives. Music has always been a passion of mine since I was a young child. Read More

My lessons include a combination of popular beginners methods, such as Leorard, Giraffe, Dose of the Day, etc. combined with musical games that teach musical theory and sight reading. I will often write music for my students— short pieces that highlight skills they are working to improve— which is something they really enjoy. Finally, I always include lessons about music history whenever introducing a new piece or composer to my students, so that they begin to understand the musical and cultural context of everything they play.
