I believe every student is unique and will need to improve in different areas for different reasons. Every student will have a specific taste in music so I always to try design lessons based on the music style they enjoy most. I will also introduce new music to keep them inspired. But, in general I have found the best teaching style is to both agree on a list of songs to learn. Read More

I have experience teaching music at the Fort Washington School of Rocks Rookies Program which consisted of performance-based, group lessons that included exposure to music fundamentals, and experience playing all of the major rock instruments (drums, guitar, bass guitar, keyboard, and vocals). Through my eight years with The School of Rock (SoR), I imparted my love for music to children and inspired their journeys through The Rookies and SoR 101 programs, individual lessons, summer camps, rehearsals, shows and eventually tours. I am a caring, intuitive, and experienced musician and teacher. Small-group situations such as studio lessons or chamber music groups find me at my happiest and most fulfilled. I have premiered exciting new works at NYU's Tenri Center, at Stony Brook, Bennington College, Queens College's Aaron Copland School, the LI Composers Alliance, and my alma mater Indiana University. I especially enjoy varied religious settings, for example as concertmaster of the holiday orchestra at St. Read More

There are often good lessons that go along with these pieces, and I pick pieces that are famous for good reason! My teaching experiance has been mainly one one one. I've never given group lessons mainly because you can't totally focus on the student when there are several people involved. The best teaching/learning situation is the individual lesson where the focus is on one person. All my lessons are with one individual. More than one creates distraction and breaks the contenuity of the learning experiance. My experiance has been with grade school students, College age, middle aged and also senior citizens. Read More
Instruments: Piano Voice Music
I'm a passionate and motivated instructor who loves working with students and sharing my love of music. I am currently pursuing my degree in music education with a concentration in voice at Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University. My instruments include classical voice, which I have been studying for 6 years, and classical piano, which I have been studying for 10 plus years. I've also had the opportunity to perform in various concert halls and ensembles around the world, including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, the Beijing Watercube Olympic Stadium, and many churches throughout Germany, which has contributed to my experiences as both a performer and as an educator.
