I started playing the piano about 25 years ago and I began teaching about12 years ago. I performed in many recitals and guild auditions as a student, and in college I began to perform at Open Mics, at weddings and then dinner music at restaurants. The introduction to theory and different genre of music helps to keep students interested. So just one basic piano book may not be enough.
