For the past 20 years, I've studied and performed with keyboards, guitars and woodwind instruments while exploring a very wide variety of music ranging from classical and rock to jazz and avant-garde. Expanding and sharing that knowledge with other people in a helpful and friendly manner is something that I consummately enjoy- especially if they're beginning where I once was. We work on technique, performance, note reading, sight reading, and interpretation. We also work on music theory. I really enjoy seeing my students enjoy learning music as that brings me back to my memories of learning. I find it is important to allow students to work at their own pace so they will not become frustrated and lose interest in what I am teaching them. With that I feel it is important to take as much time as the students needs in order for them to grasp what they are being taught as I feel it will hurt them down the road later when they start to get into playing the music as it will get harder down the road.
