While trumpet technique and routine will be heavily emphasized for all students, it is important to realize what the student is most interested and excited about learning about. The introduction to theory and different genre of music helps to keep students interested. So just one basic piano book may not be enough. In my experience, the Faber series is the most widely followed to get students started on their musical journey. As students progress, I ensure that they develop a repertoire that consists of at least 3 songs.
