I believe that private, individual lessons are the only way for a music student to become good pianists, learn at their own speed, and learn all the different parts of music that need to be learned. I have been teaching in the St. Louis area since 2001, when I took my first Piano Pedagogy course at Webster University.  I also taught for 2 years in the Los Angeles area.  I have taught children as young as 5 years old and my oldest student was 88.  I encourage regular practice but always attempt to inspire motivation rather than enforce it.  I bring standard piano repertoire and classical literature to the table so that students can discover their preferences and have a clear sense of Music History. For beginning students who are children , I starts to prepare hand positions, also I invented the game ,like find the key , that is making process of reading the notes and find them on a key much easier and faster , also it’s good to exercise attention and multiple task. Once the students progressed to have a grasp of fundamentals I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance.For adults I’ll try to find out what the students is interested in , and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun. I use both classics and popular songs to teach reading, theory, ear-training, and improvisation. I teach all of my lessons differently- custom tailoring each one to the students (and parent's) wants, needs, and personal learning style. My success in teaching has come from helping the student to see the joy and pride that comes from attaining goals they might not have believed possible.
