I am a performing artist who loves inspiring and helping others in their musical journeys. My rigorous classical background and broad musical interests allow me to find ways to encourage both beginning and advanced students, no matter what their musical interests. I tailor studies to individual students, as everyone has music inside regardless of training and specific abilities. My background includes professional recitals, chamber music, orchestral piano, and collaborative work. Read More

I have had a passion for music since I was ten years old, and I would love nothing more than to share that passion with the next generation of young musicians. I graduated with a degree in jazz performance from Rutgers University in 2020, and have performed all across the country with several phenomenal musicians, at venues such as Feinstein's 54 Below, Count Basie Theater, Carnegie Hall, and numerous colleges and universities across the east coast. For younger children I typically begin with the Alfred Piano Lessons series as I find the songs very accessible, catchy, and the format of the book to be engagaing for kids. The series is also very suited to a complete beginner in its introduction of new concepts and will have the child already playing songs by the end of the first lesson. For older students I will skip over easy material in an effort to simply fill in the gaps of what they already know or can learn quickly and focus on moving them more into music they are interested in playing. One of the biggest things I've learned from teaching students and being a student myself is that ultimately, the student's mindset and practice habits are the biggest determinant in their improvement. That is why I believe strongly in getting to know each individual student before designing a week-by-week curriculum that I feel is best for them. Books I tend to use often include the Faber "Piano Adventures" series, Hanon, and Bartok's "Mikrokosmos" (for sightreading practice). Read More

I am a recent college graduate, so it hasn't been so long since I was taking lessons myself! That said, I've taught music in a wide variety of settings, from private lessons, to music summer camps, to instrumental demonstrations, to running college ensembles, and more. Because I'm still young, I remember what it was like not to understand certain topics within music, so I'm particularly good at figuring out where my students are getting stuck and helping them to look at it from a new point of view. I like having my students take advantage of any school/local recital opportunities that might arise as it provides great experience. My students get to choose some of their repertoire and lesson content as it makes it more enjoyable for them. I do require all students to play scales as they provide an essential foundation for all that they will play. I strive for my students to love playing violin and viola and for them to show off what they learn to their friends and family to spread the joy that music provides. Read More

I have left behind 11 years of my adventure, which I have crowned with conservatory education since I was 8 years old. Trying to understand and researching music at the intersections of other social sciences is what I enjoy the most.I think that I am a music person who loves the profession. Knowing that liking music is the greatest motivation, first of all, I made it my biggest mission to make people love it. Read More
