For young children, I start with the use of their 10 fingers. We do finger exercises using Middle C as the center and exercise the fingers in up and down playing at the piano. I use the Faber method of study which is fantastic, is graded, introduces all kinds of pieces and a lot of theory. It is a very interesting course and my students do very well using it. I am a classically-trained violinist and composer, with a passion for teaching music to children and adults of all ages and levels. I received my Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from Indiana University, and subsequently received a scholarship to continue my studies in Paris. Over the years, I have contributed to several non-profit and El Sistema-inspired music programs, in both North and South America.
